Indian Experts says that France did not allow India to optimize Rafale Jet
Indian defense experts said that the BJP-led government made a blunder in that they did not protest against France's decision to optimize Rafale for Indian use. Experts are leaking the India and France deal for Rafale, where India purchased 36 Rafales and the contract was signed in 2019. All Rafales are now delivered, and experts before the Pakistan vs. India's April-May 2025 conflict suggested that the Rafale is a match-winner, and it will change South Asia's air force power forever. Even though some French experts suggest that India has a clear-cut advantage against Pakistan now, as its JF-17 Thunders are no match against Rafale.
However, all this perception and hype changed on May 7th, 2025, when Pakistan shot down 6 Indian jets, including three Rafales, which the Indian media and government refused to comment on. The Indian government was so embarrassed that they do not want to talk about it even now. However, now some subjective Indian journalists are questioning India's contract with France for Rafale, and they say that India did not force France to optimize or transfer technology. It was said that France did not agree to optimize Rafale for India.
However, now the Indian government is closely looking at the Pakistan and China defense partnership. China has optimized the J-10C, JF-17 Thunder, and Mirage for Pakistan. It is reported that Pakistan and China have developed their internal data links with all their jets so that they operate in one system. However, for India, this is not the case, as India has each version or model of the jet working with different data and linking them differently. Additionally, now Indian experts suggest that India should learn from Pakistan and should focus on homegrown defense capabilities.
