Punjab Kings Beats Chennai Super Kings by 18 runs in IPL 2025

Punjab Kings beat Chennai Super Kings by 18 runs, and it was a nail-biting contest as both teams have their own superstars, who can win the game by themselves. However, this season of the IPL has not started well for CSK at least, as they have lost their fourth match in a row, including the PBSK match against CSK. Moreover, this season of the IPL has introduced several new players who are dominating the matches against their opposition.

Such as Priyansh Arya, who recently announced his arrival in the IPL, has scored a century by facing just 39 balls. It is considered one of the best centuries in the IPL. The match between PBSK and CSK started with PBSK batting first. With the help of Priyansh Arya (who scored 103 runs) and Shashank (who scored 52 runs) for PBKS, they set a total of 216 runs by losing 6 wickets.

In reply, CSK had several players who helped the cause, like Chris Gayle (who scored 30 runs), Yusuf Pathan (who scored 37 runs), and David Miller (who scored 38 runs) against PBSK. CSK was unable to utilize the powerplay properly; that was one of the major reasons CSK was not able to achieve the target set by PBSK. Additionally, CSK did a terrible job fielding as well and managed to drop 5 catches, which could have changed the course of the game. Soft dismissal of star players of CSK is also one of the reasons for 4 match losses in a row.

IPL 2025 is all about batting display, unlike other leagues, which try to balance batting and bowling; however, now all domestics, including global leagues, are following the PSL formula to entertain the crowd. It is important to note that this is IPL 2025 22nd Match, and it was played in Mullanpur on April 8th, 2025.

It is reported by the Indian media that it will now be hard for CSK to manage to get into the knockout stage, as they have suffered a fourth successive defeat, and chances are getting slimmer for CSK in this IPL session.
