Quetta Gladiators won by 64 Runs against Peshawar Zalmi

Peshawar Zalmi won the toss and decided to have a ball first to test out the pitch's seams and swing. Quetta Gladiators got the start they wanted due to Finn Allen's fast-paced innings, and Saud Shakeel is a good captain; however, his slow-paced innings is still a concern for Quetta Gladiators. Moreover, Saud Shakeel's strike rate was around 120, which is not good enough for T20. Additionally, now high-ranked teams in T20 matches consider at least above a 160 strike rate to play for the national team, which is why Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan were sacked from Pakistan's T20 national team.

Finn Allen gave the start that the Quetta Gladiators wanted, and he made 31 runs by only facing 16 balls and made as many possible runs in the power play as the Quetta Gladiators could. Saud Shakeel made 32 runs by facing 26 balls. Then, in the middle of the overs, the Quetta Gladiators started to choke and fall apart. However, Kusal Mendis saved them and made 32 runs by playing 27 balls. Moreover, Mark Chapman made it possible for the Quetta Gladiators to post a high target, and they posted the target of 179 runs for Peshawar Zalmi to win. The standout bowler for Peshawar Zalmi was, surprisingly, Saim Ayub, who took two wickets and only conceded 24 runs in his four-over spell. Alzarri Joseph took three wickets and conceded 35 runs.

However, in reply again, the Peshawar Zalmi openers failed to contribute, as both Saim Ayub and Babar Azam got out early. Openers seem to be the major problem for Peshawar Zalmi as well as Lahore Qalandars, where openers are failing to utilize the power play and take the game away from the opposition. Only Hussain Talat's contribution was worth mentioning. Quetta Gladiators' Faheem Ashraf took five wickets and conceded 33 runs while he still had four balls remaining to finish his 4-over spell. Moreover, Khurram Shahzad took 2 wickets, and he only conceded 9 runs and bowled 3 overs.
