US President Exempted Computer and Mobile Products from Tariffs

US President Donald Trump announced tariffs in early April and strongly justified tariffs against all countries as the US wants its current account deficit under control. Another reason was given by the fact that the US government wants to revive its local manufacturing industry, which has been dead for a decade or so. However, it is a fact that China has taken over US manufacturing companies because the US's biggest issue is labor cost and taxes. The US company is unable to produce cheap goods because its labor costs are too high, and it is protected as well.

Moreover, just recently, US government clarified that the tariffs that Donald Trump applied to those countries would not affect mobiles and computers or IT products, as they are exempted from the tariff even for China; it is exempted. However, on the 9th of April, US President Donald Trump paused US tariffs on all countries except China and said that China disrespected the whole world and increased the tariff to 145% on Chinese products exported to the USA. 

Moreover, the move to exempt computers, mobiles, and IT products is because the US cannot afford a layoff and recession, as most of those companies that make these products are US-based. If a tariff were applied, then nobody would be in a win-win situation, and it would have impacted IT progress, digital progress, and computer technology progress altogether. Additionally, the US president's move regarding tariffs does not seem to be a well-thought-out plan, as it seems like the plan was made overnight without analyzing the consequences of their decision. If the US could analyze, then it would not have required the US to roll back the tariff for 3 months.

It is hoped that computer, IT, and mobile product prices will not increase globally, and it does not impact the ordinary person.
